My Journey In Cake Design
Where it all started
Every great adventure begins with a single step, and my journey into the world of cake design is no exception. What started as a simple love for baking, has blossomed into a fulfilling career that allows me to share my passion for creativity and sweetness with others.
When I think about what led me to start my own wedding cake business, it feels like a mix of fate, passion and a love for creating memories. Wedding cakes, after all, are so much more than desserts. They're often the centrepiece of one of the most important days in a couple's life. To me, making a wedding cake is like being invited to share in that joy. But my journey wasn't always covered in sugar and frosting. Let me take you through how I got started, why I'm passionate about what I do and how my business continues to grow.
My love for baking and passion for all things creative started in childhood. I have fond memories of baking with family during the holidays. There was something magical about watching simple ingredients like flour and sugar transform into something beautiful and delicious. The decoration process was just as fun as baking the cake itself! I’ve always been drawn to color and textures, and I believe that the finishing touches are equally important in creating a stunning final product. It isn’t surprising that I ended up in a career that allows me to combine both my creative flair and love for cake. From my early baking experiments in the kitchen to the intricate designs I create today, my journey has always been fueled by a passion for both artistry and flavour.
When I first started my journey in cake design, I knew I didn’t want to just be good—I wanted to be great. To achieve that, I took several business and sugar flower courses to hone my skills and elevate the quality of my work. But more than just technical mastery, I embraced a mindset that became one of my guiding principles: "Until you step outside of your comfort zone, you will never truly know how great you can become."
Pushing beyond my comfort zone has been essential in shaping my cake design business. Whether it's mastering a new sugar flower technique or experimenting with a bold design concept, I continue to challenge myself in ways that improve not only the overall look of my cakes but the entire customer experience. It’s an ongoing journey of discovery, learning, and growth.
I welcome the opportunity to design cakes that stand out and bring something new to the table. It’s all about making each cake as unique and special as the couple I’m creating it for.

Cakes of Curiosity was born in 2020, literally weeks before Covid-19 hit the UK. I couldn't quite believe how bad my luck was, what were the chances of a world wide pandemic hitting just as I had decided to step outside my comfort zone and pursue my dream. Who knew that in fact it would be the perfect time. It gave me the opportunity to make sure I had everything in place to make my business a success and gave me time to get my name out there and work on my first website to help promote myself. Don't get me wrong it was a scary time, not knowing if I was doing the right thing or if I was wasting my time on a business that wouldn't survive in a time that was so difficult for many. Regardless I pushed forward and kept my eye on the horizon believing that my goal was reachable. Fast forward and I am still here doing what I love.

As my wedding cake business grows, I have big plans for the future. I'm constantly learning new techniques, experimenting with flavours and finding ways to offer something fresh and exciting to my couples. The goal is always to create unforgettable experiences for my clients, no matter the size or scale of the event.

I still to this day love embracing things that are a little bit different exploring different mediums and pushing the boundaries with designs within my cake world.
I'm excited to see where this journey takes me and I look forward to continuing to grow my business and bring sweet moments to life, one cake at a time.

Being creative is not just something I do—it’s a part of who I am. It’s woven into the fabric of my soul, influencing everything I touch and every cake I design. Each cake is a blank canvas, a chance for me to turn imagination into something real, tangible, and meaningful.
